Review: MorphexJaclynHill Palette

 Hey Guys,
I'm super excited to share my thoughts on the MorphexJaclynHill palette! At first, this palette didn't interest me that much but just like everyone else, I hopped on the band wagon once I saw the swatches. Even though it was a bit pricey for a Morphe palette, I justified my purchase since they claimed this palette contains all new formulas. I also feel like I don't really own a palette quite like this. Below I will discuss my thoughts, share some swatches, and show you some looks that I created with this palette.

This palette is currently out of stock but Morphe has confirmed that they will be restocking it on 7/18 at 8 am PST. However, it is limited edition so it will only be around for a limited time.

Here is what is said about this palette on the Morphe site:
"This is not your average eye palette. That’d be boring. We (and most importantly, Jaclyn Hill) don’t do boring. This palette is a 2-year love affair. 35 brand-new, OMG eyeshadows that Jaclyn whipped up, formulated, tested, re-tested, and perfected. They were created to deliver not only the best color payoff but also amazing application. Mattes, shimmers, satins, foils, and glitter: all pressed to perfection...just the way Jaclyn wanted. Her dreamy colors are now your reality. So whether you’re pressed for time or have time to play, this palette is your new bestie. Because a girl (and guy) needs to have options."

On to my thoughts:
First I will touch on the packaging. I really hate this packaging. I get that Jaclyn chose light colors that she loves personally but a white palette is going to get VERY dirty VERY quickly. Aside from the color, the packaging is extremely cheap. It is not a rubber-ish feel like the Kathleen Lights palette and literally feels like paper and cardboard. That really disappointed me because I know this palette is going to get destroyed. When you open it, the crease makes a ripping noise so eventually I know it will rip. I really wish they just kept with their plastic packaging and made it silver or white or whatever color she wanted because I personally feel like it is better than this and would last longer.

That being said, I didn't pay for the packaging, I paid for the shadows. That is more important to me. From first glace, these colors are absolutely gorgeous. When I swatched with my fingers, the shimmers were extremely soft, creamy, and pigmented. They looked amazing. I didn't need to run my finger through the shade a few times either. The mattes were a different story. They didn't swatch as well. I have no idea how she got her matte shadows to swatch the way she did in her video and snap stories. None the less, how they apply on your eyes are far more important.

After using these shadows on my eyes to create looks I have noticed the following. The lightest matte shades are not as pigmented as I thought they were going to be when you apply them on the eyes. They do take a little building up which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't know anyone that just uses one swipe of shadow when creating an eye look. There is a little fall out in the palette but I didn't experience any on the eyes. They do blend and build up very nicely. The darker matte browns and other shades are more pigmented than the two light shades in the first row. The shimmers apply nicely on the eyes but to get maximum pigmentation you must apply with either your finger or using Fix plus. This isn't for all just most of them. As for the wear time, I think they last very well. At the end of the day, my makeup looked just as nice as it did when I first applied.

I know these looks may all be very similar but these are just the colors I gravitate towards on a regular basis. I do plan to experiment and use more of the colorful shadows. I will share those looks on Instagram once I create them.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this palette. I think this might be my favorite palette ever. The shimmers are phenomenal and the best I have ever used. The mattes blend really nicely and complement the shimmers perfectly. I didn't see any fading or creasing whatsoever with this palette. I put my makeup on at about 7:30 am and by 9:30 my makeup still looked pretty damn good! That's 14 hours! The only complaints I have is that the packaging is cheap and I wish there was a matte bone color in the palette for under the brow. I don't use shimmery colors on my brow so I bought a single Nyx matte shadow to use with this palette. Regardless, I highly recommend this palette and am so glad that I bought it!
