Review: Ipsy Glam Bag July 2015

Hey Guys,
I can't believe we are almost into August! The summer is flying by which makes me sad but I'm super excited to go to Martha's Vineyard this week! I will be taking a break from blogging while on vacation but will do my best to get to everyone's blogs as soon as I get back.  Ok, let's move on to Ipsy. For those of you unfamiliar with  Ipsy, it is a monthly beauty subscription service. For $10.00 a month, you get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. To learn more you can check out my previous Ipsy reviews on my Subscription Reviews tab at the top of my blog. The theme for this month was "Summer Lovin". The bag was really colorful this month which made me think of the summer. Also, I was happy to see a bunch of new brands that I haven't seen in past Glam Bags.

Here are the products that I recieved this month:

Total Value: $78.58

Overall, I thought this bag was decent. My favorite items were the Teeez Lipstick and the Jelly Pong Pong shadow/liner stick. However, I really wish Ipsy would stop sending me hair products and skincare because I have no interest in these products and wish they would read my reviews.

Hey Guys,
I recently bought some more ColourPop products and wanted to share some swatches of the Lippie Stix and Lippie Pencils that I picked up!

I Heart This $5.00

I Heart This is a red based fuchsia with a matte finish. It makes your teeth look super white and is just an overall awesome color.

Here is a swatch of I Heart This:

Tootsi is a cool toned grey beige or "greige" and is another matte finish. At first I wasn't sure if I liked this color or not but it is definitely growing on me.

Here is a swatch of Tootsi:
ColourPop Haul

Topanga $5.00
ColourPop Haul
Topanga is a mid toned dusty coral with a satin finish. I really like this color for the summer and think it will look great once I have a tan. I love that this color was named after Topanga from Boy Meets World. I LOVED that show growing up.

Here is a swatch of Topanga:

Overall, I was pretty happy with all three colors that I chose. They are all very different and aren't really like anything that I already own.

Which of the three colors from above interest you the most? Post your comments below!

How to Get Your Best Fix with Stitch Fix:

Hey Guys,
As most of you know, I have been subscribed to Stitch Fix for quite some time now. You can check out all of my Stitch Fix reviews on my Subscriptions Page HERE. I wanted to quickly share some tips on how to get your best possible fix with Stitch Fix. To hear what they are keep reading!

Displaying Stitch-Fix-Personal-Styling-Subscription-box13.jpg

  1. Keep Your Style Profile Up to Date: Stitch Fix is always adding new questions to your style profile. Check every few months to see if things have changed. Also, if you have any changes in style or size preference, make sure to update those too!
  2. Write a Note to Your Stylist Every Time You Schedule a New Fix: Got a special event coming up? Only want a specific type or article of clothing? Note this when you schedule your next fix! I tend to note what I loved or disliked about my previous fix if something really stood out to me. Also, I tend to note when seasons have changed for me in Boston. For example, I might ask for "items that will transition me into the Fall" for August. I also like to note if I am looking for specific items like "send me sweaters and long sleeves".
  3. Always Leave Feedback When You Checkout: Its always best to leave the most feedback possible. What did you like about your fix? What did you dislike about your fix? What did you like or dislike about each specific item? Did you like the color, the style, the cut? Etc. The more info the better. This way your stylist can get to know your likes and dislikes and get your style down to a T.
  4. Link to a Pinterest Style Board: Make sure that you link your pinterest style board to your Stitch Fix account. Also, make sure to keep it up to date! Your stylist will make sure to check out your pins to get an idea of your style and likes. Stitch Fix also has their own pinterest boards. They often post clothing and accessories that they carry on their boards. Make sure to pin any Stitch Fix looks that you are digging. This way your stylist knows that you want it in your fix!

I hope these tips have helped you get a better idea of how to get your best fix with Stitch Fix.

Review: Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse*

Hey Guys,
I'm here to share my thoughts on the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse. For those of you unfamiliar with Cocoa Brown, it is a line of self tanning products created by Marissa Carter. The line carries everything from self tanners, to body moisturizers, and body scrubs. I got the opportunity to try out the self tanning mouse. Keep reading to hear my thoughts!
Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse*
I was sent a bottle of the one hour tanning mousse and the self tan applicator mitt.

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse
Here is what is said about this product on the Cocoa Brown site:
"– Accelerating ingredients mean that this revolutionary, speedy self-tan develops into a rich Cocoa Brown colour in just 1 HOUR.
– Once rinsed off, your tan will last for between 5 and 7 days.
– Signature Tahitian Gardenia scent-NO fake tan pong!
– Moisturising and kind enough to be used on both face and body.
– Easy to apply mousse, fast-drying, non-stick and fades evenly.
– Vegetable derived DHA and No Parabens = kind to sensitive skin.
– As always Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter tan is brown, not orange.

Colour Varies between light and dark depending on how long you leave the tan on before showering.
1 HOUR = Light Glow
2 HOURS= Medium Glow
3 HOURS= Dark Glow"
http://www.cocoabrown.ie/

Here is what the tanning mousse looks like:
Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse*

Cocoa Brown One Hour Tan Mousse won the following awards:

WINNER RSVP Magazine Beauty Awards 2013 – ‘Best Tan For Body’
WINNER IMAGE Magazine Beauty Awards 2014 – ‘Best Tanning Innovation’
WINNER BEAUT.IE Awards 2014- ‘Best Fake Tan’
WINNER RSVP Magazine Beauty Awards 2014 – ‘Best Tan For Body’
WINNER U Magazine 2015 – ‘Best Developing Tan’
WINNER RSVP Magazine Beauty Awards 2015 – ‘Best Tan For Body’
WINNER REVEAL Magazine Bronze Beautiful Awards 2015 – ‘Top 60 Minute Formula’

Onto my thoughts:
I was really excited to try out this tanning mouse since I was looking pretty pastey. The mouse applied very evenly and you could tell right away where you applied it. It gave you instant color. I kept the tanning mousse on for 3 hours to try to develop the darkest color. You could definitely see my skin darkening as time went on. I did find the tanning mousse a little bit sticky the longer I kept it on. I was pretty dark once the three hours were up. When I got in the shower after the three hours, alot of the color washed off. I still had an obvious tan to my skin but nothing nearly as dramatic as how I looked with the mousse still on my skin. My tan looked even and not orange at all. The product bottle said that the product was gentle enough to use on your face so I put the tanning mousse on my face as well. It added a nice hit of color to my face.
Cocoa Brown recently came out with a 1 Hour Tan Mousse in Dark. I think that if I had the choice, I probably would prefer that over the original in the hopes of getting an even darker tan. I think that the original is best for fair to light skin tones. I consider myself light skin toned. As you will see in the pictures below, there is definitely a color difference, I personally would just like an even darker tan which isn't for everyone.
Here are before pictures before I used Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse:

Here are pictures after I showered and washed off the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse:

Overall, I liked the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse. I would recommend it to fair skin tones or light skinned people that only want a light tan. I would suggest trying the 1 Hour Tan Mousse in Dark for medium skin tones or light skinned people that want a more dramatic tan.

Have you tried Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse? What is your favorite self tanner? Post your comments below!

Review: ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes

ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes
Hey Guys, I'm here to share my thoughts on some more ColourPop products. This time I will be talking about their blushes and bronzers. ColourPop has been on fire since they first launched introducing new product after new products. They lauched blushes, bronzers, and highlighters a while ago but I am just getting around to reviewing them. Keep reading to hear my thoughts!
ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes

Bronzer in Happy Hour $8.00
ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes
This is a deepened bronze in a matte finish. It is pretty dark on my natural skin tone but looks better with a tan. I prefer matte bronzers over shimmer ones in general. This isn't too orange or red.

ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes
This is a golden bronze in a satin finish. Its recommended for medium to dark skin tones but I obviously don't listen to things like that. I got this color for when I don't have a tan. Even though its a bit shimmery, its still very pretty.

Blush in Jelly Fish $8.00
ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes
This is a bright red coral with a pearlized finish. I think its a really pretty color for the summer. Especially if you have a nice tan.

ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes
This is a mid toned beige pink in a matte finish. I was kind of disappointed with this shade because so many YouTubers raved about it. It barley showed up on me.

Blush in Cheerio $8.00
ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes
This is a deep cranberry in a satin finish. It is my favorite of all the blushes/bronzers that I purchased. I think it looks really good against my tanned skin tone right now. You need to apply with with a light hand or you can put on way too much.

Here are swatches of the products:
ColourPop Bronzers and Blushes
L-R: Cheerio, In between the Sheets, Jelly Fish, Pool Side, Happy Hour

To be quite honest, in all, I prefer powder blushes and bronzers over these. They are most pigmented using your fingers and I just don't like the idea of applying brush and bronzer with my fingers. Its messy and I don't think it applys evenly. I used a stippling brush to apply them and the pigmentation just wasn't as good as some of my other blushes and bronzers. I woudln't say DON'T purchase these. Since they are only $8.00 I would say try one or two out and form your own opinion on them. I don't regret purchasing because then I wouldn't know that they aren't for me.

Does anyone have any tips for getting these to apply more pigmented without using your fingers?

Have you tried the ColourPop blushes or bronzers? What are your thoughts? Post your comments below!

After trying on the bathing suits, I found out that the tops were too big. Because they were final sale I was only allowed to exchange for the same bathing suits in a different size. I got small tops instead and they fit a lot better. The exchange was really easy and quick. The customer service woman was really friendly and helpful. She even offered to keep an eye out for a bra that I want that is out of stock at the moment. She said she would personally keep checking and let me know if it comes back in stock. Overall, I am loving this unique subscription service and can't wait to purchase more stuff from the site!

*I was given a store credit to try this subscription for review purposes. However, the thoughts and opinions in this post are my own. I am always 100% honest in my reviews for all products discussed on my blog.

Review: Wantable Accessories Collection June 2015

Hey Guys,
It's been a while since I purchased a Wantable collection box. This time around I wanted to give their accessories collection another go. I tried their accessories collection in the past and honestly wasn't impressed. Since the last time I tried their accessories collection, they have added more questions to their style quiz. They have also added a comments box at the end of the quiz for you to put any special notes in for your order. This time around, I manipulated the quiz so that I would only get earrings and necklaces. I also noted at the bottom that I would love for them to send me a statement necklace.

For those of you unfamiliar with Wantable, it is a personal styling service that you can sign up for monthly (or whenever you would like). It is $40 for your first box and $36.00 every month after that. You get 4-5 products that are tailored to your beauty profile that you fill out when signing up. If you are not happy with your collection, you can send the whole box back and get a refund. They have 3 different type collections; an Accessories Collection, a Makeup Collection, and an Intimates Collection. They recently just added two more subscriptions that are a little different. The Style Edit and the Fitness Edit. These boxes are a little bit more pricey. You pay a $20 styling fee and they send you 5 hand picked items that you can choose to purchase or send back.

Here is what I got in my June Wantable Accessories Collection:
Wantable Accessories Box June 2015

FLEUR EARRINGS GOLD
Wantable Accessories Box June 2015
These earrings are so pretty! I'm not a huge fan of drop earrings in general but I really like these statement earrings.

DEENA EARRINGS
Wantable Accessories Box June 2015
These looked kind of plain to me but I actually liked them once I wore them. They will look nice paired with a more elaborate necklace.

CRISTIN NECKLACE
Wantable Accessories Box June 2015
I already have a few layered necklaces like this in gold so I was thrilled to get one in siver.

SARA NECKLACE SilvER
Wantable Accessories Box June 2015
I was so happy to see that they listened to my request and sent me a statement necklace. This is such a pretty color and I have nothing similar like it already.

Overall, I was really thrilled with this box. I have a ton of gold jewelry but not that much silver.  I was happy to see a bunch of silver pieces. There really wasn't anything that I disliked in this box. It was totally worth the $40.00 that I paid.  I was so happy with this accessories collection that I decided to get another one next month!
