June Favorites

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to share with you my favorite products for June. This month ended almost as quickly as it came. The past four weeks flew by! I am pretty excited that July is almost here. I have some fun events coming up in July including a 4th of July Party, a Motives Trunk Show, and my trip to Mexico! This month, I didn't really have a favorite blush or eyeshadow palette which is rare for me. I did however have a ton of other favorites!

Review: Influenster Surfs Up VoxBox*

Hi Ladies! Today I am going do a quick rundown of the Influenster Surfs Up VoxBox that I recieved from them for review purposes. For those of you unfamiliar with Influenster, it is a site that works with different brands to promote their products. As an Influenster you link all of your social media accounts. The more active you are in social media, the better chance you have at getting chosen for Voxboxes. However, some Voxboxes can be completely random or very specific having to do with specific demographics. You also complete quizzes on different subjects to become "experts" in that area.

On to my Surfs Up VoxBox...

Review: Stitch Fix-Fix #8

Hi Ladies,
Today I am going to share with you my most recent "fix" that I recieved from Stitch Fix. For those of you unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, it is a personal styling subscription service. You can learn more about Stitch Fix and see my previous fixes on my Subscription Reviews page. I am going on vacation to Mexico next month so I asked Jenni (my stylist) to send me some pieces that I could wear there but also ones that I could also wear to work afterwards.

Here are the items that I recieved:
$28.00
I wasn't crazy about this top when I pulled it out of the box. After trying it on I didn't really like it that much in general. The design on the shirt is okay, but I didn't like the material and the top itself was a little big. The material was like a loose woven material. It felt like it would stretch out a lot throughout the day. I sent this item back.

Review: Ipsy Glam Bag June 2014

Hi Ladies,
I'm pretty pumped about summer finally being here. Its already half way through the month which is crazy. That means I am getting pretty close to my Mexico trip! What it also means is that it's time to review this month's Ipsy Glam Bag!  If you are unfamiliar with Ipsy, it is a monthy beauty subscription service. For $10.00 a month, you get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. To learn more you can check out my previous Ipsy reviews on my Subscription Reviews tab at the top of my blog. The theme of this month is "Pretty in Paradise". Designed Rebecca Minkoff designed this month's bag. I thought that was pretty cool. In general, I wasn't excited about this month's offerings but wasn't disappointed either.

Here are the items that I recieved:

Review: Rimmel Glam'Eyes Shadow Quad in Crown Jewels

Hi Ladies!
I wanted to do a quick review on the Rimmel Glam'Eyes Shadow Quad in Crown Jewels and show you the look that I created with it. I recieved this as one of the items in a gift bag that I won in a sponsored giveaway. I got a ton of new Rimmel products so I will be reviewing the ones worth talking about. First up is this quad. These colors are not normally ones that I would pick out for myself so I was happy to try something outside of my comfort zone.

Resolute Beauty Blogger June 2014

Hi Ladies!  Beauty Bloggers Shalunya from Shalunya and Boyet and El from Glossy Glam Blog teamed up to create The Resolute Beauty Blogger. They wanted to do this to not only stay on track with their Beauty Blog Resolutions for 2014 but also to give other beauty bloggers the chance to join in on the action.

Here are my goals and updates on each:

Summer Look Collaboration: Bronze Beauty

Hi Ladies!
Summer is almost here! The lovely Cyndi from Cdel Beauty asked me if I was interested in doing a collab with her to give our readers some ideas of looks that you can create this summer. I decided to go for a bronze goddess look while she went for more of a fun and colorful look.

Here is the Bronze Beauty look that I came up with:

Summer Fashion Trends

Hi Ladies!
Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite summer fashion trends. There are so many great new styles out there but below are the trends that I am loving the most right now.

Maxi Dresses and Skirts
I was never really a "dress" type of girl until last summer. I always felt like I had to be so careful in dresses since most of the ones I wore were on the short side. Last summer I got into wearing maxi dresses and skirts. This summer I will be wearing them even more! Maxi skirts and dresses are HUGE right now. I think that they are a repeating trend for the spring/summer because of their flowy fabric, ease, and comfort! I have been pairing my skirts and dresses with a jean vest and have been loving the look!

Review: Laura Geller Beauty Sugar Rush Kit

Hi Ladies,
Today I am going to review my very first Laura Geller Beauty products. I have read many great reviews of Laura Geller products and was really excited to try them. What I love about Laura Geller is that they always have awesome kits that come with a handful of different products. I am a SUCKER for makeup kits. After looking over the offerings at Ulta, I chose the Sugar Rush Kit.
The kit included 6 different products for $39.00 which was an awesome deal. The packaging was super cute and I have heard awesome things about the Balance n Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation.

Pressing Loose Pigments

HI Ladies!
My lovely blogger friend Chelsea over at Tiger Love Beauty recently posted a tutorial on how to press loose pigments. You can check her tutorial out HERE. Her tutorial is very easy to follow and has pictures as well to explain each step. Thanks Chelsea!

I decided to try this out because I had a ton of MAC pigments that I got a few years ago during Christmas that I never use. The colors are all beautiful but using loose pigments is just messy. Pressed shadows are just easier and more convenient in my opinion. I figured that if I pressed my pigments, I would be more likely to use them.

Review: Motives 3 in 1 Contour, Bronze, and Highlight Kit

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to review the Motives 3 in 1 Contour, Bronze, and Highlight Kit. I was given this product as a gift from Kacie, a Motives Beauty Advisor. I was not given this product in exchange for a review. When she came over my house to discuss Motives Cosmetics and what is involved in becoming a beauty advisor, we talked about contouring. We talked a little about the Motives Sculpt Series Palette. I told her how I thought contouring is amazing but how contouring with creams and liquids scare me. She told me that she usually uses powders to contour on herself and that you can create beautiful contouring with powders. Anyways, on to the contour kit!

This kit comes with a contour shade, a bronzer shade, and a highlight shade. The kit retails for $34.95 and can be purchased on the Motives Cosmetics site. The powders are not as large as the eyeshadows in the Motives Mavens Element Palette that I reviewed (HERE) but they are still a decent size.

I really loved that the kit also comes with a little chart that shows you where to put each type of product. I know where to put what but its still nice to have this. Especially for beginners who are just learning to contour and highlight. Learning to contour with powders is also a great idea since it gives a more subtle look. Once you feel comfortable contouring with powders, you can decide if you want to move on to more dramatic contouring with other products.

L-R: contour shade, bronzer shade, and highlight

Here are swatches of each:
What I like about the powders in general is that they have zero shimmer to them. They are matte powders. The contour shade is dark without being TOO DARK for my skin tone. The bronzer is very subtle and has no orange tint to it. The highlight shade makes your skin glow without making it shiny or shimmery. That being said, the contour shade MAY be too dark for people with fair skin tones.

I have been using this kit in my daily routine for the past few weeks. I don't do any major contouring so I am not sure if you can really notice it in pictures. Overall, I am really enjoying this contour kit. I recommend it to any beginner that wants to learn how to contour as well as anyone who likes to contour with powders.

What do you think of contouring? Do you contour on a regular basis? If so, do you prefer doing it with powders or creams/liquids? Post your comments below!

-Tanya xoxo

Makeup Empties

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to do my first empties post. It has taken me a while to come up with enough empty products to talk about. I would say it has taken about 3-4 months to get use up all of these empty products. Therefore, this will not be a monthly post that I do.

On to the empties:
