March Favorites

Hi Ladies,
I can't believe how fast March flew by! It has been the coldest March that I can remember having in a long time. I am hoping that April will switch gears and it will actually feel like Spring! This month I have used a ton of different products. I made it a point to switch up some of the products that I was using on a daily basis. At the same time, I found myself reaching for a few products frequently.

Here are my picks!

Nyx Butter Lipstick in Hunk
The Nyx Butter Lipstick have to be one of my favorite lipsticks that I own. Last month, Pops was on of my monthly favorite. This month it is Hunk. This color is so gorgeous and a very wearable color. Some people may be intimidated by the color of the tube however, this lipstick is more of a dark pinkish-purple with blue undertones. I would consider it a dupe of MAC's Rebel. I own both and tend to reach for this more because of how moisturizing it is.

Revlon Butter Lipstick in Pink Truffle
This color is a sheer pink with brown undertones. I use this all the time at work when my lipstick has worn off and I want something moisturizing for my lips. This is one of the lippies featured in my Revlon Lip Collection post that I will be posting soon.

Urban Decay Primer Potion
My MAC Paint Pot is almost gone and really dried out. I remembered that I got UD Primer Samples with my Naked 3 palette and decided to try them out. I was so surprised at how much I love these primers. I was so set on my paint pots that I didn't want to give any other primers a chance. I have been using all 4 of the different primers (original, matte, aging, and shimmer). When I run out, I will most likely purchase the full size of Eden (matte primer). I really love this one because it covers my veins like my paint pot.

Urban Decay Naked 2
Up until this point, I was very iffy about this palette. I have had a hard time with the taupes however I am really starting to feel comfortable with it and like it. I really wish that I wrote down the colors that I used the other day in the look I created because I loved it! I have used this palette several times this month.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows in Universal Brunette
I recently did an in depth review on this product. I use this everyday. It really does a good job at shaping my brows and filling them in. My only complain is the consistency of the product. I wish it was a little more creamy and less crumbly. Either way, its making my brows look more sculpted on a daily basis.

Nyx Super Fat Eye Marker
This isn't my HG black liner but I do like it. I use it ALOT to line the upper water line. I have also been using it alot to line my upper lash line. It gives a very clean black line and is easy to use.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Nude
This is another product that I use daily. It makes you look more away and brighter without the obvious look of white eyeliner. This is another Rimmel product that I am loving. For $5.00, this is a great product that every woman should own.

Maybelline Master Hi-Liht in Natural
I bought this in the hopes of using it as a blush, however, the color is really light and I have been mainly using it as a highlight on my cheeks. This may work as a blush for someone for fair skin, but for me, it gives more of a nice glow. I really want to pick up more of these in different colors.

Nyx Blush in Mocha
I really love this blush. I have used it a lot this month. It goes very nicely with many of the looks that I have created. The color is very natural on me and not too bright.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite products for March!

What were your favorite products this month? Post your comments below!

Review: Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set

Hi Ladies!
I recently got the Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set. I have heard so many great things about these brushes. I own everything from $1.00 e.l.f. brushes to higher end M.A.C. Brushes, to brushes that came as free gifts in a set. Out of all my brushes, I would have to say I love these brushes the most.

The set comes with 4 brushes along with a fold-able carrying case that doubles as a stand. You can purchase these online at Real Techniques or at Ulta or Kohl's. This set costs $18.00 but Ulta and Kohl's offer sales and discounts on these brushes from time to time.

Review: Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection in Petal Pusher

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to review the Wet N Wild Petal Pusher palette. I got this at Market Basket for $3.79. My initial thoughts on this palette were great. I loved the colors in the pan and when I swatched them they looked beautiful. After using it, I am less than impressed and rather bummed. Because I had so much luck with the Comfort Zone palette, I was thinking I would have the same with this one. That was not the case.

Review:Stitch Fix-Fix #6

Hi Ladies!
I'm back with another review of Stitch Fix! This is my 6th Fix and one of my favorites to date. For those of you unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, it is a personal styling service that you can sign up for monthly or whenever you feel like treating yourself to some new clothes/accessories. You fill out a lengthy profile to help the stylist understand your, shape, style, likes and dislikes. You can learn more about Stitch Fix and check out my previous fixes on my Subscriptions Page.

On to the goodies!

In my last fix I asked Jenni (my stylist) to send me items that would transition me into the Spring. I also asked her to try to do her best to stay in my price range for each item (under $50.00). Jenni did an AMAZING job at sending me items that reminded me of the Spring. I recently did a post on Spring Fashion Trends and each one of these items fit into one of the categories that I talked about. It took everything in me not to purchase this whole box. The only reason why I didn't buy the whole box is because I am getting another fix next month! It will be my last fix before I give my pocket a break.

Here are the items that I recieved:
$48.00

Review: Too Faced Bulletproof Brows

Hi Ladies!
So I recently ran out of eyebrow pencil and decided I wanted to try a brow pomade. What I really hate about retractable brow pencils is that you can never tell when you are going to run out. I originally went to Ulta to try out Anastasia's Dipbrow, but the colors are just too dark for me. I hear that they are coming out with some medium and light browns so I am hoping some of the newer colors will match better.

Instead of the Dipbrow, I ended up with Too Faced's Bulletproof Brows. This product is a powder, gel, pencil, and setting wax all in one.  It has a clay consistency. The product claims to dry in 60 seconds and is smudge proof. It also comes with a double ended brow tool that has an angeled brush on one end and a spooley on the other. The kit costs $30.00 and you can purchase it at Ulta, Sephora, and on the Too Faced website.

Review: Ipsy Glam Bag March 2014

Hi Ladies!
I'm back with another Ipsy Glam Bag Review. For those of you unfamiliar with Ipsy, it is a monthly Beauty Subscription Service. You pay $10.00 a month and get 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty products. I think this is the best beauty subscription service by far. It is really affordable you and get some really great products to try each month. The value of these products always surpass the monthly cost that you pay so it is very worth it! To learn more about Ipsy you can check out my previous reviews on my Subscription Reviews page.

Here is what I recieved in this month's bag!

Resolute Beauty Blogger March 2014

Hi Ladies!  Beauty Bloggers Shalunya from Shalunya and Boyet and El from Glossy Glam Blog teamed up to create The Resolute Beauty Blogger. They wanted to do this to not only stay on track with their Beauty Blog Resolutions for 2014 but also to give other beauty bloggers the chance to join in on the action.

Here are my goals and updates on each:

Gain a larger following- I am slowly getting more of a following which is great. However, I knew there was something I haven't been doing to increase my numbers. I actually meet up with El in person last night for some drinks which was really awesome! We chatted a ton about life in general but also blogging. She discussed with me ways that I can increase my following. One of which is being more active on Twitter. I am lacking in this area so in March and the coming months I will make more of an effort to be active on Twitter. She mentioned taking part in Twitter Chats so I will be participating in one tomorrow!

Review: Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection in Comfort Zone

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to talk to you about Wet N Wild's Comfort Zone eyeshadow palette. I got this at Walgreen's for $4.99. These colors are so beautiful and the price is great! The pigmentation is AWESOME. The shadows are soft and blend beautifully. I have paid much more for higher end palettes that weren't as good. I created looks using each side of the palette and followed the instructions on the shadow itself on where to put it. I thought that the top right color was a little dark for a brow bone color but wanted to see the look that these instructions would create.

Review: Nyx Blushes

Hi Ladies!
Nyx has become one of my favorite lower end makeup brands. They have great quality products at affordable prices. I recently purchased 4 different colored blushes and they are all beautiful. For $5.00 each, you really can't go wrong. Their blushes are soft and pigmented. They have a large range of colors which come in a variety of finishes.

The colors that I purchased were Terra Cotta, Pinched, Mocha, and Coral Dream. The pictures don't really do the blush justice. The swatches are a little more accurate than the colors in the pan.

Review: Lorac Pro Palette

Hi Ladies!
As many of you know, I have been lusting over the Lorac Pro Palette for months. My husband surprised me with one for Valentine's Day and it has quickly become one of my favorite palettes. The Pro Palette is very versatile and has a great mixture of mattes and shimmers. It comes with 8 matte shadows and 8 shimmer shadows. You can create so many different looks with these shadows ranging from a very natural day time looks to dark smokey eyes. The colors have a bit of fall out due to the creamy soft texture of the shadows but it doesn't bother me at all. The colors blend great and stay on all day (when pairing with a primer). This set also came with the Behind the Scenes Eye Primer which I liked. It worked well, I just wish that it had more of a color to cover the veins in my eyes. Once the shadows are on you can't see them.

Review: Kushyfoot Products*

Hi Ladies!
I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to try out some Kushyfoot products. I received 3 different products that I will be reviewing below. For those of you unfamiliar with Kushyfoot, it is a footwear and hosiery company that sells everything from slippers and ballet flats to knee highs, tights, and socks. They also carry a men's line of socks. Their prices are super affordable and their items are cute, stylish, and comfortable.

TAG: Would You Rather? Beauty Edition

Hi Ladies!
The lovely Lauren from Will Sing for Makeup tagged me in this fun Would You Rather...Tag. Below are the questions and my answers.

1) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I would rather loose all of my palettes and eyeshadows. I would be able to find other products to use as eyeshadows. Also, I could not live without mascara and some type of  product.

Spring Fashion Trends

Hi Ladies!
Now that we are almost into Spring, I wanted to discuss some of the trends that I believe will be big this season. I am SO excited for Spring. After this long, cold, and snowy winter, I am ready for grass, flowers, and 70 degree weather!

Here are the trends that I am seeing already:

Neon colors-I love wearing bright colors, especially when the weather is bright and cheery too. Stores are starting to carry a lot of neon pink, green, and blue. I have seen tons of bright lipsticks and nail colors. I am also starting to see a lot of costume jewelry in funky neon colors as well as handbags and sunglasses. Hot Pink lips are something that I look forward to rocking this Spring. I have seen orange lip color here and there. I am not sure if I like it personally, but it is definitely trending.

Highlighter Smackdown

Hi Ladies!
Over the past couple of months I have purchased three different highlighters/illuminators. I really like them all but there is one that stands out above the rest.

Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls in Beige Pearl

This was the most recent highlighter purchase of the three. I got this at CVS for 40% off. I believe it was  $8.40. I like the nice glow that this palette gives. The powder is soft and creamy and goes on very nicely.

Review: NYX Concealers

Hi Ladies!
Today I am going to review some Nyx concealers. As you will see below, I have dark circles and have had them my whole life. I have searched high and low for a concealer that would covered them completely and not look like I have a ton of product on my face. I have used stuff that was too dark and made my circles worse and concealers that were too light and made them look gray. I have also tried products that made my dark circles look orange. Besides reviewing the products, I will show you how I use each of them.
